Jason Ferguson

Chairman, World Professional Billards & Snooker Association

Jason Ferguson is a former professional snooker player who was once ranked in the sport's top 32. During his playing career, he also served the sport's players association as a non-executive director.

Following his retirement from competitive sport, his attention moved to property development and town regeneration. He went on to serve a successful term as the mayor of his town in the constituency of Newark and Sherwood.

In 2009, Ferguson was asked to return to the WPBSA, snooker's world governing body, to guide the organisation through a major restructure. Ferguson has presided over radical changes in how the sport is governed, run and commercialised. These changes have seen the sport of snooker grow from its UK base of around six events to around 25 events globally, producing global participation and enormous international television coverage.

He remains as chairman the World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association (WPBSA), the sport’s world governing body, and he is also director of World Snooker Limited, which owns the World Snooker Tour.
