Valerio Cianfoni has spent much of his life living, working and studying internationally. Following his history and international relations degree, he also graduated from the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution. There, he was the first to integrate his previous athletic career and experiences with his academic research and practice.

During the early stages of his carrier, Cianfoni worked with NOGs, Multinationals, and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs always in the field of sport and social development. In Lausanne since 2011, he has joined the Olympic Movement via the International Gymnastics Federation, then in 2012 the International Olympic Committee.

With the World Baseball Softball Confederations since 2017, Cianfoni started in public relations with the mission of helping the WBSC to establish its image. Additionally he is been driving the Baseball5 project since day 1. After a few years as the executive assistant to the president, after launching the WBSC esports strategy he now serves as the head of special projects where still oversees all Baseball5 along with esports for the WBSC.
